Graduate Student
Jorge is a graduate student working with Lorenzo Sironi on compact binary systems. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from San José State University. Prior to entering the graduate program in astronomy, he was a participant of Columbia's Bridge to PhD Program. Jorge is from California's Bay Area, with roots in Michoacán, México.
Jorge's research interests include compact objects, redback and black widow pulsars (plus other systems too!), high-energy astrophysics, and plasma astrophysics.
