The uncertainty challenge :

Uncertainties are not only common in (my) simulations and science, but also in the lives and academic careers of scientists. In this talk I will summarize “the uncertainty challenge” in gravitational wave astronomy, as well as in astrophysics as a field. I’ll summarize recent important literature on the challenges that early career scientists have to overcome and will discuss some specific science based recommendations that could help make our Columbia Department and THEA group (even) more supportive for early career researchers.
