From Hundreds to Thousands of Fast Radio Bursts with CHIME/FRB
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are among the most enigmatic astrophysical phenomena to-date. The advent of CHIME/FRB has revolutionized our ability to study FRBs, bringing the known sample from tens of FRB sources to hundreds with the first catalog release, and now to thousands with the second catalog release. I will highlight populations work done with Catalog 1 and early populations work done with Catalog 2, as well as discuss the further science enabled when these catalogs are updated with voltage ("baseband") data. I will end with a discussion on one of the next frontiers of FRB science – observing tens of thousands of FRBs per year with the Deep Synoptic Array (DSA, formerly known as DSA-2000).
