Graduate Student
Anirudh (Ani) Patel is a graduate student in the Department of Physics at Columbia University. He is broadly interested in studying high energy and nuclear astrophysical systems with a combination of numerical methods and analytical models. A specific area of interest is constraining the origin of some of the heaviest elements in the Solar System, like gold and platinum, which are produced through r-process nucleosynthesis.
Ani was born in Queens and grew up in New Jersey where he completed his undergraduate studies in physics and philosophy at Rutgers University in 2022. Beyond science research, Ani enjoys running, cycling, and travelling.
