Rebecca Diesing

Postdoc

Rebecca Diesing is a joint postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and at Columbia University in New York City. She earned her PhD from the University of Chicago in 2023, where she was a Harper Fellow.

Rebecca is interested in the acceleration and astrophysical impact of cosmic rays. She is currently using a detailed model of cosmic ray acceleration to better understand the evolutions and environments of extreme astrophysical phenomena, including supernova remnants, novae, and winds launched by active galactic nuclei.
